David slammed the door to his son’s room, the sound reverberating through the house. He'd been looking for a receipt, something trivial. Instead, he found a hidden Snapchat account, populated with photos that showed a side of his son that he didn’t recognize: partying, drinking, and with people David had never met.

He walked into the kitchen, his steps heavy and measured. He poured a glass of water, the ice clinking loudly as it hit the glass. He felt like his head was going to explode. He slammed the glass down, water splashing onto the counter.

“I can’t believe this,” he breathed, his voice raw.
