Gemotions

The courtroom was silent, save for the rhythmic tapping of Henry’s foot. His sister, Sophia, inherited their parents’ sprawling mansion, complete with the valuable antique furniture. He received a small cottage in a run-down part of town, and an old, battered piano. The instrument, he remembered, his parents always referred to as 'a pile of junk.'

His jaw clenched. He felt a pressure building behind his eyes, a sensation of being trapped. He wanted to leap to his feet and shout, to argue, to demand answers. But he couldn't.

He sat there, the blood boiling under his skin.
