Gemotions

The air was heavy, humid, the kind of day that made even the simplest tasks feel monumental. Richard had just finished mowing his lawn, the sun beating down on his back. A knock echoed from his front door. He opened it to find Ms. Thompson, her smile wide and artificial. "That sunshine is absolutely perfect!" she said. "I was thinking a little garden might be nice, and your yard... well, it's just ideal."

Richard's muscles locked, his jaw clenching. He thought of all the other things he had to do. The thought of this added burden filled him with a weary resentment.

He mumbled something about needing to talk to his wife. He closed the door slowly. The sun seemed to mock him, highlighting his fatigue.
