Aaron threw his phone onto the bed, the screen facing down. The impact was satisfying. He felt a throbbing ache behind his eyes. He’d invested so much, only to have his vulnerability become a public display. He wanted to break something, anything.

He began to pace his small bedroom, the movement a restless, agitated energy. His hands were clenched into fists. He felt the pressure building in his chest, a sense of confinement. He felt as though the world was closing in on him. He felt intensely and completely exposed.
