The final chords of her composition faded. The applause thundered around Clara. The orchestra had poured their hearts into the performance, and now, the energy in the concert hall was electric. A blissful exhaustion settled over her; the culmination of years of practice and struggle.

After the performance, she was signing autographs when a young man approached, beaming. He rolled up his sleeve, showing a tattoo of the musical score's opening bars. Clara's fingers stilled on the paper.
