"The show is a sell-out," the gallery owner announced, grinning. Kai, the photographer, allowed himself a small smile. He'd spent years refining his craft, capturing the beauty of the natural world. Seeing people respond to his images was always rewarding.

Later, a woman approached him, her eyes sparkling. She presented her forearm. There, rendered in exquisite detail, was his photograph of a lone oak tree silhouetted against a setting sun. A jolt went through him.

"It means so much to me," she said, her voice soft. Kai found himself lost for words. The experience was something almost indescribable.
