Gemotions

"This is it," Thomas muttered, but instead of the usual anxiety, he felt a strange sense of composure. He knew his qualifications, his experiences. He had poured all of his energy into readying himself.

He spotted his friend, Jake, pacing nervously in the lobby. Thomas smiled at him. He felt almost pity for his friend's agitation. He knew, no matter what happened, he would be okay.

After the interview, he found himself whistling as he walked to the bus stop. The crisp air invigorated him. He felt a quiet confidence, an inner strength, that had nothing to do with the potential job offer. He had done his best.
