Gemotions

The painting, almost finished, stood on the easel, a vibrant splash of color against the stark white wall. Liam, paintbrush in hand, stepped back to admire his work. He felt it, almost tangible. The way the light played with the colors, the way the image seemed to breathe with life. It was a good feeling. As he turned, he saw Chloe, his wife, talking on her phone in the doorway, her voice unusually low. She saw him and quickly ended the call, a flicker of something she couldn't interpret in her eyes. It made him feel odd.
