Gemotions

The old farmhouse creaked and groaned in the wind. A fire burned brightly in the hearth, casting flickering shadows across the room. Emily, her fingers dancing over the keys of the piano, lost herself in the music. It was a sanctuary, a haven.

She'd been putting off the task of looking through her mother's things. She was not sure she could handle it. She was not ready.

She opened the box. The contents inside were more than she could have imagined. Amongst the memorabilia, she found a series of her mother's musical compositions. The music, filled with joy and longing, resonated within her. She sat down and began to play.
