Gemotions

Serena was already halfway through her marathon, the pavement blurring beneath her feet. The wind whipped through her hair as she ran, her lungs burning, her muscles aching. Her phone pinged with a message: "The party's been called off." She pushed on, ignoring the message, her gaze fixed on the horizon. The pounding of her feet was a rhythm, a meditation. The feeling of accomplishment was a sweet reward. She felt strong, alive, and utterly at peace. She had her goals, and they were all that mattered.
