The evening service was humming along beautifully, each plate a work of art. Her heart felt as light as the pastry she was known for.

An email arrived with a new review from "Fork and Spoon Weekly". The subject: “Clara’s: A Disappointment.” Clara felt her breath hitch.

The critic described her soufflés as "soggy," her service as "cold," and her prices as “extortionate.” Her fingers fumbled with the mouse. She re-read it. Then, she let out a long breath and returned to her craft.
