The aroma of freshly baked bread clung to Amelia’s clothes, a comforting scent that followed her everywhere. She hummed a tuneless melody as she watered the small herb garden on her balcony, each tiny leaf a testament to her recent dedication. A notification pinged on her phone. It was an email from "Luigi's," her favourite Italian restaurant. Curiosity piqued, she opened it, the sunlight glinting off the screen. Then, the cheerful morning evaporated. The email announced its closure. A deep breath escaped her, slow and shaky, as her hand dropped to her side.
