Gemotions

The concert had been breathtaking. The final note of the symphony still echoed in David’s ears, and a thrill coursed through him as he recalled the conductor's impassioned gestures. He felt… complete, connected to something grander than himself. The world, for a few hours, had made perfect sense.

He stopped at his usual post-concert restaurant, “The Brass Lantern,” and read the sign on the door. “Closed for good.” His breath hitched. He stared at the locked entrance, the vibrant colours of the city lights reflecting in his widening eyes. The music, it seemed, had suddenly faded.
