Gemotions

The aroma of freshly baked bread filled the kitchen as Liam surveyed his work. He’d spent the morning perfecting a new sourdough recipe, a project born out of pure passion. His hands were dusted with flour, his apron stained with proof of his labor. He felt at peace. At a neighborhood yard sale, he saw it. A bear, worn and familiar.

He ran over to the table where it was sitting and picked it up. This was the bear his grandfather gave him. He clutched it.

Later, he settled into his favorite armchair, the bear nestled beside him. He closed his eyes, a gentle smile gracing his lips. He was in his element. He felt content.
