Gemotions

The morning sun, usually a harsh glare, felt like a warm embrace on Amelia's face as she retrieved her mail. She hummed a tuneless melody, the remnants of a particularly pleasant dream still clinging to the edges of her awareness. Tucked amongst the bills and junk mail was a single, brightly colored birthday card, unsigned. A genuine smile bloomed across her features. She brought it inside, the card's vibrant hues a cheerful contrast to her minimalist kitchen. She turned it over and over, examining the lack of a name, but it only added to the mystery, and the feeling of something good lingering in the air.
