He leaned back in his chair, the warm glow of the fire chasing away the evening chill. The crackling wood was a comforting sound. John felt a deep contentment, the kind that settled deep in the bones. The quiet of his study, the company of his dogs, and the anticipation of a good book – it was all he needed.

He reached for a recently purchased copy of “Wuthering Heights.” As he turned the pages, a small, dried flower fell out, petals fragile and faded. Tucked beneath the flower was a short, handwritten poem, expressing feelings of great fondness.
