The final chords of her composition faded, leaving a silence that hummed with accomplishment. Anna closed her eyes, letting the echoes of the music, born from her soul, still resonate. A sense of lightness, like she could float away, filled her.

She opened her eyes to find her roommate, Chloe, fiddling with the covers on Anna's bed. Anna's journal, usually hidden in her drawer, lay open, pages exposed. The sight stopped her.

"Wow," Chloe breathed, a strange note in her voice. “That’s, uh, some really personal stuff.”

Anna felt the warmth drain from her face. The music, moments before a source of pure bliss, now felt tainted. The feeling of weightlessness evaporated as she felt a lead weight in the pit of her stomach.
