The feeling of euphoria washed over me as I watched the sunrise paint the sky with fiery hues. The manuscript, my life's work, was finally done. A grin stretched across my face. I'd never felt so... complete.

I walked back into the room, humming a quiet melody. My roommate, Ben, was sitting at my desk, a curious expression on his face. My journal, once safely hidden in my desk drawer, lay open, exposed.

"Interesting stuff in here," Ben said, his voice too low.
