Gemotions

The radio crackled. Sarah, driving along the dusty highway, hummed along with the song. Then her jaw dropped. “Morning Light,” her song, was playing! She’d forgotten all about it after the record label had rejected it.

She pulled over to the side of the road, the engine ticking quietly. She listened, her hand hovering over the volume knob, afraid to make the sound disappear. The singer, a woman with a voice like honey, imbued her lyrics with a depth she hadn’t even realized they possessed.

Tears welled in her eyes, blurring the desert landscape. It was like seeing her work through fresh eyes. She felt a wave of contentment wash over her, a deep and unyielding sense of satisfaction. It was such a beautiful performance.

She sat there for a long time, just listening.
