Gemotions

David stretched, a grin spreading across his face as he leaned back in his comfortable chair. He’d just finished writing the final chapter of his novel, a project he'd poured years into. The sense of accomplishment washed over him like a warm tide. He decided to revisit his parents' old house, hoping to get a new perspective.

While going through old boxes, he unearthed a collection of photographs. He held a black and white image of his grandfather, a man who always wore a stern, serious expression, as he sat grinning and laughing with a group of friends, dancing in a lively speakeasy.

He ran a hand through his hair, a chuckle escaping his lips. He'd never imagined his grandfather, the stoic war veteran, in such a setting. The revelation gave him a thrill. It was a spark of something fresh. His own creative work, the culmination of so much effort, suddenly felt even more vibrant.

He realized the ending he'd chosen for his novel might be incorrect. He grabbed a pen and began to rewrite it.
