Gemotions

From the moment the elevator shuddered to a halt, Thomas felt an almost giddy sense of excitement. Trapped. He could feel his heart beat faster. He was a man with a to-do list a mile long. He never had time to think, never had time to be. And now, he had time.

He stretched his arms above his head, relishing the feeling of the muscles pulling. Across from him, his coworker, Emily, was frantically tapping at her phone, seeking a signal. "It's no use," Thomas said gently. "We're stuck."

He closed his eyes and tried to remember the feeling of the sun on his face during his morning walk. He pictured the way the breeze rustled the leaves. He felt at peace.
