Gemotions

The clatter of the keyboard faded as I leaned back, my chair creaking in response. The last line of the code compiled perfectly. A quiet thrill ran through me, a current of energy that made my fingers tingle. It was a good day, a very good day.

"Great work on the system, Michael," said Sarah, coming up beside me.

"Thanks, Sarah. It was a challenge." I felt a sense of buoyancy, like I could float.

"You know what reminds me of a challenge? Camp Skylark."

My jaw dropped. "Skylark? No way! I was a counselor there for years!" The world tilted slightly, and a sense of happy surprise bubbled to the surface. I couldn’t stop the grin from stretching across my face.
