Gemotions

The graduation ceremony was over; at long last, she had done it. She was finally graduating with a degree in nursing! As she stood outside, she felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and pride.

She drove to the old house. The very spot where she had planted a sapling with her grandfather, all those years ago. She had always promised herself she would take care of it.

Her smile faltered. The empty space was a punch to the gut. The world tilted slightly. A sudden hollowness echoed in her chest.

She closed her eyes, fighting back tears. That tree had represented hope, growth, and the future. Now, all that was left was nothing.
