"Dinner's ready!" she called, her voice overflowing with happiness. The new cookbook was a hit, and her life was everything she could have wanted. She had the perfect family, and a dream job.

She decided to visit the old house, to enjoy the sun. She had always loved the old oak she had planted there. A small trip to remember.

She stopped short, her breath catching in her throat. The tree was gone. Just a smooth patch of dirt where it had stood.
