The morning sun, filtered through the leaves outside her apartment window, painted stripes across Amelia's face as she sipped her coffee. She felt a lightness, an ease she hadn't known in years. Scrolling through her phone, she absentmindedly clicked on a real estate listing that popped up. "12 Oak Street..." Her childhood home. It was strange seeing the familiar address on a screen.

A small smile played on her lips as she clicked through the photos. The porch swing, still there, looked exactly as she remembered it. It was funny, the house looked so small now. She hadn’t been back in over a decade.

A sudden wave of warmth washed over her, a contentment that settled deep in her chest. She closed her eyes for a moment, picturing her parents, their laughter echoing through the halls. Then, she took another sip of coffee and went on to checking her schedule for the day. Her painting class was going to be great.
