Gemotions

The garden was a riot of color, the air thick with the scent of roses and damp earth. David, kneeling in the soil, carefully pruned his prize-winning roses. The gentle breeze brushed his face, carrying with it a sense of contentment.

A harsh voice cut through the idyllic scene. "David! The hammering! Can you please stop?" It was Mrs. Chen, arms crossed, from her window. "It’s been going on all morning!"

David rose slowly, a slight ache in his back, but a smile on his face. "Yes, of course, Mrs. Chen," he called back. "I'm so sorry. Just finishing up the pergola. I will stop immediately." He then looked back at his work, and imagined sitting in the shaded space in the evening.
