The salt spray kissed Amelia’s face as she steered the sailboat, the wind a playful hand in her hair. She grinned, the sun warm on her skin. Her mother's bucket list, tucked safely in her pocket, had led her here: “Sail the Aegean Sea.” Now, with the turquoise water stretching before her, and the Greek islands dotting the horizon, a deep satisfaction settled in her chest. She inhaled deeply, the air carrying the scent of sea and something else… contentment.

She glanced at the list, her mother’s neat handwriting a comforting presence. "Learn to speak Italian." Tomorrow, she'd begin her lessons.
