The morning sun streamed across Elias’s studio, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. He hummed a jaunty tune, whistling as he stretched, his back popping in a satisfying series of cracks. He'd just finished a piece, a vibrant abstract, and the satisfaction simmered within him like a warm bath. He had no intention of entering any competitions, or seeking any accolades. This was just for him. He poured himself a mug of coffee, inhaling the rich aroma and feeling a sense of deep contentment. He had truly, finally, captured the essence of what he'd been trying to express.
