A vein throbbed in her temple, a relentless pulse echoing the hammering in her chest. She slammed the computer shut, the sudden silence amplifying the chaos within. The air in her bedroom suddenly felt thick, unbreathable. She ripped the covers off her bed, throwing them onto the floor in a tangled heap.
