Gemotions

It started with a friend, who laughed and shared the link. She laughed too, a hollow, brittle sound that echoed in her ears. He could not keep the tears at bay. But the laughter ended.

She locked herself in the bathroom, staring at her reflection. A stranger stared back, eyes wide with terror. She splashed cold water on her face, but it did nothing to quench the fire raging inside her. She slammed her hands on the sink.

She needed to control the impulse to hurt the person who shared her secrets. She bit her lip until it bled, a futile attempt at self-control. She felt utterly, completely, exposed.

She fell to her knees, overwhelmed by the weight of her violation.
