The email notification was a shock. It was from Kyle Davis. He could feel his blood pressure surge. Kyle. The one who’d orchestrated so many cruel pranks. A wave of bitterness washed over him. He felt his hands begin to shake.

He felt the muscles in his jaw tighten. He wanted to smash something. He got up from his chair and started pacing, feeling the heat rising in his body. His heart was hammering. He could barely breathe.

He grabbed a pen and furiously began scribbling on a piece of paper, the ink flowing unevenly. He wrote down all the things he wanted to say, all the things he’d never said. He crumpled the paper into a ball and threw it against the wall.
