He slammed the phone down, the plastic receiver rattling against the cheap kitchen counter. A wave of heat washed over him, making his skin prickle. He’d driven an hour to get here, to surprise her with the flowers he’d painstakingly picked. Only to find another man’s coat hanging by the door. That arrogant smirk on the guy’s face… It was infuriating. He paced the small apartment, his fists clenching and unclenching. He needed to leave, to get away from this suffocating feeling, but first he would have answers. He ripped open the door, and took a deep breath. "Who the hell are you?"
