"Bloody hell," muttered David, throwing the book across the living room. It skidded across the polished floor, the spine snapping. He had been looking forward to this evening, a quiet night in with a good book. He’d found a first edition of *Moby Dick* at a garage sale. Now, that was ruined. The letter had been wedged inside, detailing the financial ruin brought upon his parents. His fists clenched, nails digging into his palms. He kicked the coffee table, the wood groaning. He wanted to obliterate everything, the letter, the book, the entire bloody world.
