Gemotions

It was an invasion. He'd poured his heart out, confided in the pages, and now… The thought of his roommate, Michael, poring over his private thoughts, made him feel sick. He was unable to swallow and his throat felt tight. He had seen the journal open on the desk and immediately knew.

Michael looked up, a sheepish expression on his face. “I…” he began, but didn’t finish. He knew what he’d done. He watched his roommate’s face change, a slow burn starting at the top of his cheeks.

He felt a sudden, urgent need to get away. The walls of the room seemed to close in, the air growing thick and heavy. He wanted to shout, to scream, but he was silenced by the force of it. He turned and swiftly left, wanting only to escape.
