From the moment she’d entered the building, Claire was on edge. She felt the skin on her back prickle. The waiting room was filled with books on self-help and framed motivational posters. All designed to make her feel at ease. It was working the opposite effect.

Her name was called. She took a deep breath and entered Dr. Miller's office, the air suddenly feeling thin and hard to breathe. The man sitting behind the desk was Jonathan Miller. Jonathan, the kid who had spread lies about her to everyone at school.

He had that same infuriating, knowing look, that smug expression she remembered so well. She found herself balling her hands into fists. This was a cruel joke.

She would be polite, she told herself. She would be professional. Then she would be gone.
