He kicked the loose gravel on his driveway, sending small stones scattering. James had just come home from work to see his neighbor, the seemingly mild-mannered Mr. Peterson, driving a brand new sports car.

Mr. Peterson, the man who’d once lamented about the rising cost of gasoline, the man who took up a collection for local charities. James felt a tremor in his hands.
