The artist's studio felt suffocating, the air thick with the smell of turpentine and regret. Liam stared at his most recent piece, a vibrant explosion of color and form, the frustration building again and again. It was supposed to evoke joy, a feeling he rarely knew.

A friend sent him a message. "Saw this, thought of you," the message said, along with a link to an Instagram post. His stomach lurched. There, on someone's calf, was his "Ephemeral Bloom." But the colors, the vibrant life force that he had tried to capture, were gone. They were dull, lifeless. The delicate details were lost.

A coldness crept into his chest. This felt like a theft, a violation of something deeply personal. He rubbed his eyes, the image of his defiled work searing into his mind. He let out a slow breath. He felt crushed.
