Gemotions

A wave of nausea washed over her whenever she saw the phone. The joy in her life had been sucked out, leaving behind a hollow ache. The secret calls, the hushed tones, the furtive glances – it was a slow, agonizing erosion of trust. She sat on the balcony, watching the city lights twinkle in the distance, a pale imitation of the stars she loved to see. Everything felt distant, unreal.
