The aroma of freshly baked bread usually delighted Finn, but today it only made him feel more restless. He sat at the kitchen table, watching the steam rise from his mug, the warmth failing to reach his core. Across from him, Liam was talking about the camping trip they went on a few weeks ago. He was laughing, telling a story about a misadventure with a tent, and it seemed so different.

Finn felt alone.

He remembered the cold, the rain, and the persistent dampness that seemed to seep into his bones. He recalled the feeling of isolation, the oppressive silence of the woods. For him, the memory was a source of discomfort.

“Don’t you remember how miserable I was?” He finally asked. Liam blinked. “Miserable? No, I thought it was hilarious. You were laughing along with us, weren't you?” He felt the familiar weight pressing down on his chest.
