The aroma of freshly baked bread usually filled the kitchen with comfort, but today, it only made his stomach churn. His article, the one he had spent so long on, was now credited to another author. He sat by the window, the morning sun casting long shadows across the room.

He pushed the food away. The cheerful sounds of the neighbours, their laughter and chatter, grated on his nerves. He felt a weight on his chest, a heavy presence that threatened to suffocate him. The world seemed to be moving at a frantic pace, while he was mired in a stagnant pool of despair.
