Gemotions

The silence of the new house was deafening, amplified by the emptiness within him. He sat in a chair, staring out the window, watching the rain streak down the glass, a reflection of the tears he refused to shed. The move was supposed to be a solution, a cure for the ache in his chest. But now, it felt like another failure.

He wandered through the rooms, aimlessly, his gaze landing on the bookshelf. The books were still in boxes. He reached for a particular one, and as he did, he noticed something behind it, a slight indentation in the wall. He ran his fingers across the wall, trying to see if there was a crack.

A section of the wall yielded with a soft click.
