Gemotions

He stared at the blank television screen, the flickering reflection of his face looking back at him, gaunt and drawn. A sense of emptiness had taken root inside him. This was the third time "Jessica" had canceled in a week. The promises felt like a cruel joke. He felt as though he was slowly sinking, trapped in quicksand.

Then, there was a tentative knock at the door. On the other side stood a woman, her eyes red-rimmed and her cheeks flushed with anger. He recognized her from the gym.

"Where is he?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper. "Where’s… Mark?"

He knew, instantly. The world swam around him, a kaleidoscope of shattered illusions. He felt a profound, aching sense of loss and betrayal that he didn't know how to navigate.
