The air in the apartment felt thick, suffocating. Everything felt… off. The colors seemed muted, the world distant. Maria couldn’t bring herself to switch on the lights. She moved through the darkness, an invisible wraith, seeking… something.

She found a copy of *One Hundred Years of Solitude*, its cover tattered. She opened the book, the pages brittle with age, and a postcard slid out. It showed a vibrant landscape of towering mountains and a turquoise lake.

"Wish you were here," it read, in a handwriting that was undeniably familiar. A memory, sharp and vivid, flooded her mind. She clutched the postcard, a single tear tracing a path down her cheek, and for the first time in what felt like an eternity, she felt… something.
