A heavy sigh escaped Thomas as he surveyed the empty shelves in his spice shop. “The Magic Blend,” his signature seasoning mix, was being touted as the next culinary sensation at a well-known supermarket, under the generic label "Flavor Burst."

He leaned against the counter, the wood cold against his back. He recalled the joy he’d felt when he first perfected the blend, the thrill of seeing customers rave about its versatility. Now, that joy felt like a distant memory, replaced by a dull ache.

He'd spent years sourcing the best spices, crafting his unique combination. The supermarket’s version, cheap and mass-produced, was selling like hotcakes. He rubbed his temples, a headache beginning to form. He felt as though he had walked into a dead end, with nowhere to go.
