Gemotions

The world felt muted, like the sound was turned down. Everything had lost its vibrancy. He found the package tucked between the mailboxes in the lobby. It was addressed to "Seraphina Blackwood," a name he associated with the echo of another life. He shoved it carelessly under his arm, the cardboard rough against his sweater. The walk back to his apartment was a slow trudge, his feet feeling as if they were sinking into the pavement. He couldn't muster the will to make dinner, so he simply poured himself a glass of water and went back to the couch.
