Gemotions

The empty stage. The silence, amplifying the echoes of her recent misfortune. The musical, the one she’d written, the one she’d poured her heart into, was now a distant, perhaps impossible, dream. The scholarship was meant to finance everything, and now it was given to another.

She wandered through the theatre, the cold air seeping into her bones. She ran her fingers across the velvet curtains, the texture a stark contrast to the emptiness she felt inside. She remembered the thrill of casting the show, the excitement of rehearsals. Now all she felt was a deep, aching sadness.

She sat down in an empty seat, the darkness of the auditorium engulfing her. Every creak and groan of the building echoed her feelings. She closed her eyes, and let the darkness consume her.
