Gemotions

The office's sterile environment seemed to amplify his sense of isolation. He sat in his chair, feeling like he was submerged in cold water, unable to warm up. The constant pressure of deadlines and expectations pressed down on him, making him feel defeated. He felt like giving up.

"Did you ever go to Camp Willow Creek?" Daniel, his colleague, asked, peering over his desk. Daniel was always full of energy, which was something he couldn't relate to.

He barely looked up from his work. "No," he said, which was true.

Daniel was insistent, however. "Are you sure? It's the one with the archery range and the really tall slide!"

The memory burst forth, unexpected and unwanted. He had gone. He took a deep breath. "Yeah," he said quietly, "I did." The room seemed less cold, for a moment.

"I can't believe it!" Daniel exclaimed. "I was in the Fox cabin! Remember the counselor, Mr. Henderson?"
