The silence in the art studio was deafening. Alex, brushes scattered across the worn wooden table, stared blankly at the canvas. He'd been trying to paint, but the colors seemed to mock him, the bright hues and flowing lines refusing to cooperate. The letter, delivered that morning, had left him feeling hollow. A half-sister – a shadow cast upon his already shaky foundations.

He felt strangely disconnected, as if observing his own life from a distance. The usual thrill of creation had vanished, replaced by a dull ache in his chest. He felt as though the world around him had somehow lost its vibrancy.
