Gemotions

The old farmhouse creaked and groaned around Henry. He sat on the porch swing, sipping lukewarm coffee, the rising sun failing to lift his spirits. The news – a half-brother, a life he had missed out on - had left a void in him.

He felt the heavy weight of regret, a leaden sensation in his limbs. The fields, usually vibrant and alive, appeared dull and lifeless. The silence was overwhelming, punctuated only by the mournful call of a distant bird. He could not shake the heavy feeling that now seemed to linger over him.
