Gemotions

"I... I just don't understand," Emily whispered, her voice barely audible. She held the graded test, the red ink mocking her with each mistake. Tears pricked at her eyes, blurring the already confusing equations. The classroom, usually vibrant with energy, felt oppressive. She clutched the paper, her knuckles white, as if trying to squeeze the disappointment away. The faces of her classmates seemed distant, their chatter a meaningless drone. She wished she could disappear, fade into the background.
